The project in Schooldanda, located in ward 14 of Gaidakot Municipality in the Nawalparasi district, is situated 160 km west of Kathmandu. The area is home to 56 households, primarily comprising the marginalized Magar population, totaling 340 residents. The initiative focused on developing a child-friendly, safe, and secure school infrastructure equipped with essential resources such as furniture, books, and educational materials. Additionally, through the Educational Environment Improvement and Community Enhancement Program (EEICEP), the project aimed to empower the community by encouraging ownership of local issues and promoting sustainable solutions. This approach included intensifying educational activities, conducting capacity building sessions, and providing support on health issues, which were expected to foster positive changes in economic, social empowerment, and educational environment improvement.
The project directly benefited 113 students and 10 teachers of Shree Shankhadevi Basic School (Nursery to Class 8), as well as 340 individuals from 56 households within the Schooldanda community, contributing significantly to holistic community development and enhancing educational opportunities.
