The project aims to enhance educational opportunities through the development of child-friendly school infrastructure in Supar, situated within ward no. 9 of Kalika Municipality in the Chitwan district, approximately 190 km west of Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. The initiative focuses on improving the overall educational environment while simultaneously fostering community development. Kolar is home to 71 households inhabited by marginalized Chepang communities, totaling 497 individuals. These efforts are designed not only to upgrade educational facilities but also to uplift the local community by creating a conducive learning environment that supports the holistic development of children and promotes inclusivity within the region.
This project brings significant benefits to the Shree Mahakali Basic School, established in 1987, and its community in Kolar. With a focus on enhancing educational infrastructure, it directly impacts 114 students and 3 teachers of the school, which caters to Nursery through Class 5 education. Additionally, the project extends its positive influence to benefit 240 residents within the Kolar community. By improving school facilities and creating a more conducive learning environment, the initiative not only enhances educational outcomes but also contributes to the overall development and well-being of the local community, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for both students and residents alike.
Specific Objectives
A. Establish a safe learning environment by constructing essential child friendly school infrastructure. This includes facilities that ensure the physical safety and comfort of students and staff, thereby creating a conducive atmosphere for learning and growth.
B. Enhance access to knowledge, skills and resources. These resources are intended to foster self-reliance, resilience, and adaptive capacity within the Supar community. By empowering community members to take ownership of local issues and constraints, the project seeks to promote sustainable solutions and improve the overall educational quality of the Shree Rastriya Basic School and its surroundings.
