Receiving Letter of Appreciation

Shanti Griha receiving Letter of Appreciation  for its  “significant” and “exemplary” work serving the  people in remote villages of Chitwan (as stated in the letter) from  Assistant. Minister, Ministry of  Federal Affairs and Local Development . Shanti Griha Nepal, Sanepa-2 has been recognized as the best 3 (out of 2700 registered to work in Chitwan) Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) working in the District  by the District Development Committee (DDC). Support for Toilets

In Gundi village of Lothar VDC ward no.-4, Chitwan District the support materials needed for the construction of the toilets have been distributed. Through ASB support, Shanti Griha Nepal has distributed 2 bundles of zinc sheet, 12ft of plain sheet, 2 kg of umbrella nails, 2 kg of GI wires, 4m of P. forms and 2 pieces of mosquito nets for each 8 household Red Card Holders listed by District Development Committee Chitwan. Support on construction materials (per household):

  • 1 sack of cement
  • 1 toilet pan
  • 1 Siphon
  • HDPE pipes
  • Community contribution: the community contributes on other requirements such as sand, stone, wood, labor etc. Read More

WASH program organized

Shanti Griha Nepal organized 2 day Water Sanitation and Health (WASH) Training in Chatrang-1, Wakrang-2, Washbang-6 and Syamrang-7 Villages of Lothar VDC, Chitwan on October 8-9, 2015. The program was funded by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ASB) through the Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH) Network. The WASH program included 6 communities of Lothar VDC viz. Chatrang, Metrang, Wakrang, Washbang, Gundi and Syamrang. Total of 264 households from the 6 communities were directly benefited from the program. Partnership Agreement Signed with Unica Foundation

Shanti Griha Nepal signed a partnership agreement with Unica Foundation (UF) for upcoming project “Infrastruture Support to Improve the Lives of the marginalized communities of Lothar-Dihitar Irrigation Scheme” in Dihitar community, Chitwan district. The agreement is signed by Mr. Prathit Purna Shrestha, Director, Shanti Griha Nepal and Mr. Ramesh Poudyal, Country Manager, Unica Foundation.   The project is funded by Unica Foundation and the project period is of 8 months (starting from November 1st 2015).  However, the project initiation period might be delayed because of the blockage in Terai region of Nepal.        ...
